I really didn’t think I was going to make this one but I managed to arrive just in time before closing on the final day, and with only a few minutes to spare (after frantically bus hopping across the city).
An organiser by the main exit was talking to a lovely lady (when I interjected). As I introduced myself, she said she had read and enjoyed previous Edinburgh Insider articles. (I never met a reader, nevermind a fan before – jings, crivens, and heavens above!).
So, I gave her a big hug and told her I loved her. I was overcome with emulsion [sic]. I was genuinely moved by this marvellous woman.
The gentleman, whom I’d met at the door, then led me inside to meet one of the event’s main organisers (with whom I’d previously exchanged a few emails). She was understandably busy, but we were each able to say a quick hello and have a brief chat.
The nice man was now ready to give me the full VIP, 20-minute, whirlwind, circuit of the arena. He was without a doubt very experienced at this (as became immediately obvious). This was clearly not his first rodeo!
During the turbo-charged tour I was lucky enough to see some of the exhibits as they were being taken down, as well as a handful of cosplayers who were kind enough to pose for photos, but before I knew it the event had come to its natural conclusion, and the weekend convention was over for another year.
Honesty, I have to say, again, I had a blast.

(I’ve never been to Disneyland)!
I’ll be back next year – absolutely! – and with a bit of luck and better timing, I hope to catch a few of the celebrity panels whilst I’m there.
